The Memorial Hall is a registered charity (charity no. 701225) and the following section provides information on the Charity’s aims and it’s officers.
Aims of the Charity
The Charity’s aims are to provide facilities for social recreation and to promote the social welfare of residents within its area of benefit, principally the wards of Holgate, Acomb, and Beckfield in the City of York. However, applications for hire are accepted on a citywide basis.
How is the Hall managed?
The Hall is managed by a Committee, drawn substantially from representatives of its regular users. We are also please to welcome other residents who can voluntarily offer their time and any expertise. The Committee is elected at each April’s AGM, and meets in May and every two months thereafter.
Four Holding Trustees who are independent of the Commmittee, jointly hold the titles to the Hall’s building and land, on behalf of the Community.
